Chop border guard detachment

Chop border guard detachment protects 30.9 km of the state border with the Republic of Poland, 97.85 km with the Slovak Republic, and 20.65 km with Hungary. The total length of protected area is 149.4 km.

Border guard detachment structurally consists of border guard detachment headquarters, border surveillance departments, mobile border guard unit.
Protection of the state border is provided by 3 border guard divsions: «Velykyi Bereznyi», «Uzhhorod », «Tysa»
Border control of persons, vehicles and cargoes is performed at 9 international border crossing points, 3 of it are automobile ("Malyi Bereznyi","Uzhhorod","Chop (Tysa)"), 4 - railway ("Pavlovo","Chop (Strazh)”, "Chop (Druzhba)", "Salovka"), 1- airport ("Uzhhorod"), 1- pedestrian ("Mali Selmentsi".
Chop border guard detachment as a border protection body within the State Border Service of Ukraine, in accordance with the competence determined by the legislation of Ukraine, performs the tasks to ensure border security, prevention of specific crimes and administrative offenses related to illegal activities at the border, their detection, termination, conducting surveys and administrative proceedings.
protection and defense of the state border of Ukraine on the river and land area in order to prevent the illegal change of the passage of its line, ensuring compliance with regime of the state border and border regime;
implementation of border control and passing of persons, vehicles, cargoes and other property across the state border of Ukraine, as well as identification and prevention cases of illegal movement;
conducting the operational and investigation activities in the interests to provide the security of the state border of Ukraine according to the Law of Ukraine;
participation in combating against the organized crime and counteraction to illegal migrants in border area;
coordination the activities of military formations and relevant law enforcement agencies related to the protection of the state border of Ukraine.
