Recently, the border guards of the Chop detachment once again prevented the illegal transportation of tobacco products from Ukraine to the EU countries.

The cigarettes hidden from control were found during a joint inspection with customs officers of a german-registered car “Volkswagen” at the “Tisa” BCP.

During the inspection of the car, which was going to leave Ukraine, the border guards suspected that there were hiding places in it. The vehicle was sent for in-depth inspection. As a result of the inspection, 950 packs of tobacco products were found in the door panels of the “German” car. A 55-year-old Ukrainian tried to transport them to Hungary.

As a result, “Volkswagen”, produced in 2007 and the tobacco products found in it, were confiscated by customs officers. The total amount of the assessment of the seized products was over 120 thousand hryvnias.
