Border guards of “Lymanske” border guard division, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi border guard detachment, have detained 3700 packs of cigarettes which were transported by boat. The border guards were informed about attempt of tobacco articles smuggling in advance.

Border patrol, which carried out tasks on a temporary floating border guard post in Kuchurhan lagoon, noticed the boat around midnight. Strangers were steering to Ukrainian coast from the Republic of Moldova. Border guards on small cutter immediately moved to detain offenders. Soon they found a boat, loaded with tobacco, in the rush. 

During search measures border guards detained 2 men (probably involved in smuggling cigarettes). These persons were detected with the help of thermal imager not far from the place where the boat was found, in the suburb of Lymanske village. The detained had no documents, but they claimed they were citizens of Ukraine.
