To prevent the introduction of the Omicron strain into Ukraine, the Government adopted changes related to the crossing of the Ukrainian border

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted amendments to the Resolution of December 2, 2021 № 1236, which entered into force today, December 3.

Amendments to the Resolution "On Quarantine and Restrictive Anti-Epidemic Measures to Prevent the Spread of Acute Respiratory Disease COVID-19 Caused by SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus in Ukraine" are aimed at preventing the spread of the new Omikon strain in Ukraine.

The changes state that foreigners and stateless persons from South Africa, the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of Namibia, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of the Republic of Eswat are prohibited from crossing the state border for entry into Ukraine during the quarantine period. Republic of Malawi and have been on their territory for at least seven days in the last 14 days.

This norm does not apply to foreigners and stateless persons who permanently or temporarily reside in Ukraine, are spouses or children of citizens of Ukraine, employees of foreign diplomatic missions and consular posts, missions of international organizations accredited in Ukraine, and members of their families, as well as other categories of foreigners and stateless persons in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons permanently or temporarily residing in Ukraine are spouses or children of citizens of Ukraine who cross the state border to enter Ukraine and arrived from the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Namibia, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of Esvatini, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Malawi and have been on their territory for at least seven days in the last 14 days, are subject to mandatory self-isolation, observation.

The term of self-isolation is 14 days. It begins from the moment of crossing the state border and cannot be terminated earlier in accordance with the established procedure.
