If in 11 months of 2019 94.3 million people crossed the border of Ukraine for entry and exit, then for the same period this year this amount is 31 million people.

In total, for objective reasons, since the beginning of the year, the State Border Guard Service has not allowed 12,000 foreigners into Ukraine (last year 21,000). A significant percentage of them are potential illegal migrants - almost 4,800 people have not been allowed into Ukraine since the beginning of the year (twice as many last year). They were detected during border checks. Most of the stoppages of such migrants were recorded at the air ports of entry - more than 2,700 people and at the border with Russia - more than 1,100 people.

Since the beginning of the year, border guards have detained more than 900 illegal migrants (almost 1,300 in the same period in 2019) for illegal crossing or attempting to cross the state border of Ukraine. More than 220 of them were detained on the border with Poland, more than 200- on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, 175- on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, 120- on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, and more than 70- on the border with Russia.

The development of the migration situation in Ukraine continues to be influenced by the unstable socio-economic and military-political situations in a number of countries in the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia.

Border guards, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, also found 7.7 thousand foreigners who violated the rules of stay on the territory of Ukraine.
