SBGS meets with Chief Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Japan to International Organizations and representatives of the UN Office

Recently, the leadership of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has met with the Chief Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Vienna, Austria, and representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the current state of cooperation with the Government of Japan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, potential areas for intensifying such cooperation in accordance with the current situation and needs of the Ukrainian Border Guard Service, as well as the main objectives of cooperation in the context of regional security.

The significant achievements of the previous years of cooperation were emphasized, which included enhancing the capacity of the State Border Guard Service in the areas of healthcare, anti-smuggling and operational and investigative activities, in particular within the framework of the joint initiative by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and WCO.

The meeting made it possible to outline promising areas for further joint work and to record the aspirations of each party for cooperation and interaction.
