As part of a working trip to the southern region of Ukraine, Naval Attaché Peter Mallory and Naval Air Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine John Carter met with Oleh Kostur, Chief of the Regional Directorate of the Marine Guard.

American specialists were presented the composition and capabilities of the State Border Guard Service, existing and promising projects for the development and improvement of the capacity of units of the border agency at sea.

The parties discussed the current situation around Ukraine's sea borders, results and plans for cooperation, expanding areas of support for the Marine Guard on equipping with modern means of improving the efficiency of monitoring of surface situation, equipping emergency parties and protecting the lives of personnel.
