Border guards continue to actively fight against the illegal circulation of excise goods on the territory of Ukraine. It does not stop even during wartime.

A local businessman driving a car without license plates was detained by law enforcement officers in the village of Fontanka of Odesa region. In another case, a batch of cigarettes of shady origin was seized by border guards of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi border guard detachment in cooperation with National Police officials.

Thus, in one of the markets of Bilhorod – Dnistrovskyi city, law enforcement officers seized several tens of thousands of cigarettes packs, mostly without excise stamps, as well as more than three hundred electronic cigarettes from a resident of Odesa.

This dealer made orders and received cigarettes also through the services of one of the logistics companies. Having organized an underground warehouse in the store, in the future he intended to sell substandard products among fellow citizens.

The circumstances of both illegal transactions with excise goods are currently being investigated. The issue of opening criminal proceedings is being resolved.
