During the implementation of anticipatory information, operatives of the Chernivtsi detachment, together with representatives of the patrol police, stopped the illegal movement of excise goods.

The transporter, the driver of the Mercedes Vito minibus, was stopped by law enforcement officers in the Sadhirsk district of Chernivtsi when he was transporting 30 boxes of tobacco without Ukrainian excise tax stamps. In the interior of the car, border guards and representatives of the patrol police found boxes wrapped in black polyethylene with contraband cigarettes. The man did not have permission documents to move the cargo. It was also established that this batch of cigarettes arrived in Bukovyna by one of the postal operators.

After processing the relevant documents, the tobacco products were seized and handed over to the National Police. According to a preliminary estimate, the value of these 15,000 packs of cigarettes reaches more than half a million hryvnias.
