Serhii Deineko met with representatives of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) at the State Border Guard Service Administration.

Participants of the meeting discussed the implementation issues  within the framework of launching a joint project "EU Support to Strengthening Integrated Border Management in Ukraine (EU4IBM)", and determined areas for further cooperation. ICMPD is the executor of this project. It is designed for 2.5 years and is estimated at  around 5 million euros.

The main components of the project are: analysis of the main “workflows” in the field of integrated border management (IBM), optimization of the risk analysis and information exchange system at the interagency level, international cooperation, assistance in writing the HR strategy, and monitoring the effectiveness of the implementation of the new Strategy 2025 and the Plan for its implementation.

“I would like to inform you that the approaches to the security of Ukraine's borders are being reformed at the State Border Service of Ukraine. We remain open and transparent in this direction and are grateful for the support of our partners“,- said the head of the border guard agency.

ICMPD Director of Migration Dialogues and Cooperation Martin Pluim, in turn, said: "This project will open the door to the next one, with a broader perspective".
