Border guards of the Chop detachment uncovered the ruse of a 24-year-old Indian citizen who was attempting to cross into Hungary using a forged temporary residence permit in Ukraine.

The woman presented the fake permit along with her passport at the passport control at the "Tysa" checkpoint. The border guards noticed discrepancies with the document and decided to conduct a thorough inspection, ultimately determining that the document was counterfeit.

The foreigner confessed that she had forged the permit herself. After her studies at a university in the Poltava region ended, her temporary residence permit was revoked. However, before returning the document to the university administration, she made a photocopy and printed it out. She intended to stay in Ukraine for a while longer and presented the fake document when attempting to leave.

Her actions exhibit signs of a criminal offense. The relevant notification has been sent to the National Police. After the initial procedures were completed, the woman was escorted to the police station by an investigative team.
