At the Dyakove checkpoint, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment, together with customs officers, prevented an attempt to illegally transfer cigarettes to Romania.

A 27-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who arrived at the checkpoint in a Škoda car, tried to smuggle tobacco products across the border. In order to make up for the difference in the price of cigarettes, the man packed 258 packs of cigarettes into the structural cavities of his car.

The illegal intentions of the Ukrainian were exposed by border guards during an in-depth inspection of the vehicle.

The cigarettes and the vehicle were seized.

The value of the smuggled cigarettes was 22 thousand hryvnias, the seized car was valued at 137 thousand hryvnias.
