Diplomats from the two countries visited the checkpoint and got acquainted with the registration procedures, specifics, and duration of crossing operations.

The meeting with the representatives of diplomatic institutions of Nigeria and Libya took place at the “Shehyni” checkpoint at the Ukrainian-Polish border.

The Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Ilona Melnikova emphasized that Ukrainian border guards, as well as our foreign colleagues from the EU countries, make all possible efforts to speed up the registration of people to leave Ukraine. After all, since Russia's bloody invasion of Ukraine, passenger traffic has increased significantly.

“There are no restrictions on the exit of foreigners. Some restrictions for the period of martial law apply only to male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60. Only for the past 24 hours more than 117 thousand people, including both Ukrainians and foreigners, crossed the western section for exit”, - she noted.

Ilona Melnykova added that since the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine, 150 thousand foreigners have been registered for exit at the state border with the EU countries. At the same time, Ukraine is very serious about equal treatment of all citizens crossing the state border.

Foreign representatives could see with their own eyes that all appropriate conditions have been created for their compatriots leaving Ukraine as for the citizens of other countries.

They noted that they had no signals from their compatriots about inappropriate treatment when crossing the border. At the same time, they thanked Ukraine for its assistance in returning their citizens home and evacuating them from dangerous places.
