Border guards in cooperation with customs service representatives confiscated more than one thousand packs of cigarettes at “Rava-Ruska” border crossing point, Lviv oblast.

Having inspected a bus, inspection group found a hiding place (space designed for air conditioner). 1 229 packs of cigarettes were hidden there. An owner of the cigarettes, citizen of Ukraine, was found soon. The violator, who was going from Lviv to Warsaw, admitted that he tried to make some extra cash by selling goods in Poland.

In another case, “Volkswagen” vehicle was confiscated from a citizen of Romania because of 258 packs of hidden cigarettes. The man attempted to cross the state border at “Porubne” border crossing point. He hid the cigarettes in the bumper, between engine and underpan, as well as in the passenger compartment. The cargo and vehicle were detected and confiscated by border guards of Chernivtsi border guard detachment in cooperation with customs service representatives.
