Border guards of Lviv border guard detachment in cooperation with customs officers detected 1.25 kilograms of gold several days ago. A citizen of Germany tried to take the precious metal out through “Rava-Ruska” border crossing point.

The men travelled by “Audi” vehicle and chose “green corridor” lane for passing control procedures. However, the border guards became suspicious that prohibited items could be transported in the vehicle, so it was directed to detailed inspection. While inspection the officers of border crossing point detected 52 bars of yellow metal in the niche for spare wheel and in one of bags. At present, the bars are confiscated. 

 

Besides, as the car was a mean of transportation of goods, 49-year-old citizen of Germany has also lost his “Audi” (cost of the vehicle is nearly 130 thousand UAH) for an attempt to hide the precious goods. The confiscated items were transmitted to customs.
