Due to early operative information, the border guards of the Odessa detachment blocked one more international deal as part of the work of the port control group.

A container with a cargo of “napkins” arrived at the Black Sea port. During the inspection of the cargo, law enforcement officers found 544 boxes of foreign tobacco products.

Under the guise of napkins, the dealers planned to deliver to Mariupol near 670,000 packs of contraband cigarettes. According to preliminary estimates, the estimated cost of the discovery reaches 20 mln hrn.

The operation to block the illegal movement of cigarettes was carried out by the border guards of the Odessa detachment together with customs officers, SFS, DSR and SSU.

Verification measures on the weather of the legal decision and residual calculations of the detected cigarette are currently underway.

Verification activities continue with legal decision-making and residual counts of detected smokes.
