During a patrol, servicemen of Velykyi Bychkiv BCP of Mukachevo border guard detachment noticed a group of people running towards the border with packages on their shoulders. The attackers intended to transport cigarettes across the Tysa River. Ukrainian border guards immediately informed their Romanian colleagues about this fact.

As a result of information exchange and joint search activities, 19 packages of tobacco products were found and eight people in wet diving suits were detained.

The smugglers were taken to the border guard unit to draw up administrative reports, and their actions will soon be assessed by a court.
