Personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in Crimea, in utterly complicated operative situation, remains faithful to Oath of enlistment to Ukrainian nation.

General situation is characterized by often assaults on SBGSU detachments in Crimea. Active seizures started after official statement of Head of AR Crimea Volodymyr Konstyantynov on non-compliance of border guards and active resistance to decisions of newly appointed Crimean government.

Systematic attacks were carried out by groups of 100 specially equipped military officers of Russia. Administrative building of Azov-Black Sea regional directorate and staff of Simferopol detachment were blocked.  At 22.30 a group of special forces carried out an attack on border guard section “Kerch”, which is initial state border protection detachment at Kerch direction. They broke out windows, doors, destroyed means of communication and automatic working places in rooms of detachments. There was also an attack on Kerch Coast Guard detachment and, once again, on Sevastopol Coast Guard detachment. After blocking by Russian servicemen of building in Sevastopol, video-surveillance system stopped functioning. During seizures of both coast guard detachments there was an insignificant number of people. The rest of SBGSU personnel left place of distribution on vessels and caters, which were re-distributed. 

In certain cases special forces set up plugs for conducting negotiations, because of which the absence of mobile communication is being forecasted.      

In these complicated conditions border guards are refraining assailants, not allowing to enter rooms of weapons preservation. Moreover, service in “Kerch” port of entry is being held with the presence of 100 russian servicemen.

At the same time there is accumulation of armoured equipment at ferry “Crimea-Caucasus”.

Continues active relocations of russian Navy vessels in Black Sea area in direction of entry/exit Sevastopol port. This is a direct infringement of requirements of Agreement between Ukraine and Russian Federation on Black Sea fleet residence on Ukrainian territory.
