At the Bachivsk border crossing point, border guards of the Sumy border guard detachment together with customs officers prevented an attempt to move drugs across the border.

A citizen of Ukraine arrived at the border crossing point to leave for Russia in a Mercedes-Benz car.

During the car inspection, a service dog, specially trained to search drugs, worked on one of the bags.

In the bag, the border guards found a jacket in the sleeve of which there was a package with a dark green substance of a vegetable origin similar to marijuana. The weight of the substance reached 500 grams.

Subsequently, during a more detailed inspection of the jacket, law enforcement officers found 9 more packages with a crystalline substance of plant origin of pharmacological action with a total weight of about 1.5 kg.

According to the results of rapid tests, narcotic alkaloids are present in these substances.

So far, the findings have been seized for a full examination. The National Police officers carry out operative and investigative actions in order to clarify all the circumstances of these criminal offenses.
