Ukrainian and Lithuanian border guards to increase bilateral cooperation

A meeting of the heads of the border guard agencies of Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania, Major General Serhii Deineko and General Rustamas Liubajevas, took place in Kyiv.

During the meeting, delegations of the border guard agencies discussed further cooperation taking into account the largest military invasion in Europe since the WWII which Ukraine is facing now because of the brutal armed aggression of the russian federation.

Being true friends, the Lithuanians did not come to Ukraine empty-handed. In order to support Ukrainian colleagues, representatives of the State Border Guard Service of the Republic of Lithuania brought important aid to Ukraine, namely generators, anti-drone systems, thermal blankets, medical equipment, etc.

During the meeting, Serhii Deineko thanked his Lithuanian colleagues for their constant and decisive support, as well as for the assistance they had provided. He also expressed his readiness for further strengthening and development of the cooperation.

The Ukrainian border guards informed their Lithuanian colleagues of the situation at the contact line, interaction and cooperation with other units of the Security and Defense Forces, as well as the situation in the border regions, where control over the state border is being restored.

They discussed further cooperation between the Parties taking into account Ukraine's policy towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
