The Japanese partners visited the border guard units that protect the state border with the EU countries. Representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine were briefed on the current situation and existing threats, as well as the conditions in which Ukrainian border guards carry out their operational and service activities.

At the same time, the international partners were presented with the infrastructure of border guard units and border crossing points and existing samples of equipment used by the Ukrainian Border Guard Service.

During the study visit, the current needs of the State Border Guard Service and further areas of cooperation with the Government of Japan were discussed, both in terms of international technical assistance and in the implementation of certain joint initiatives.

The delegation of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine confirmed its readiness to increase bilateral cooperation and further joint work to assist in the development of the State Border Guard Service.
