For the fourth time in last two months, border guards from the Chop Border Guard Detachment have detained a large group of illegal migrants from the South Eastern Asia.

The illegal intentions of foreigners were stopped thanks to the established cooperation with European colleagues and the quick actions of the border guards.

According to information previously provided by Slovak border guards, in the morning of June, 14th, a patrol from the Novoselytsia Border Guard Division found eight foreigners in the woods moving towards the state border, overcoming the mountains. They were stopped 100 meters from the border. Seven Afghans, including two minors and one from India, tried to enter neighbouring Slovakia illegally bypassing border crossing points.

In order to identify those involved in the offense, officers of the operational and investigative department and squads from neighbouring units were involved. In cooperation with the staff of the Perechyn National Police department, the possible directions of traffic that could be used to transport illegal migrants were also blocked.

There is an operational and search investigation into this case.
