A 63-year-old Ukrainian citizen attempted to transport 380 packs of cigarettes into Romania secretly.

The man arrived at the "Dyakove" checkpoint driving a Ford car.

During the inspection of the vehicle, a border service dog was trained to detect tobacco reactions. During further examination, border guards from the Mukachevo unit, together with customs officers, found hidden tobacco products in a compartment above the fuel tank.

Along with the smuggled cigarettes, the Ukrainian's vehicle was also seized. The value of the confiscated items is currently being assessed.
