As part of the joint special border operation "ZAHID-2023," border guards of the Chernivtsi unit detained organizers and four conscripted individuals during an attempt to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

Acting on preemptive information provided by the unit's operatives, together with a patrol from the "Nyzhni Petrivtsi" detachment, and with the power support of the special unit DOZOR, the border guards detained the drivers of Ford and Opel vehicles. Both individuals attempted to flee the scene to evade responsibility during the detention.

Border security officers determined that one of the drivers was transporting three conscripted individuals for a certain reward, while the other provided escort and guidance during the transfer to the border.

Later, on the outskirts of the settlement of Nyzhni Petrivtsi, within a forested area, a search team detained the guide and another conscripted individual who were heading towards the state border.

The violators were taken to border units and necessary documents were prepared to hold them accountable.

Regarding the organizers, a report on the discovery of signs of a criminal offense was sent to the National Police. The offenders may face imprisonment for a period of 7 to 9 years.
