The 117th day has passed since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

However, fierce battles for Ukraine began 8 years ago. It was especially fierce in late spring and early summer of 2014, including the heroic defense of Izvaryne BCP that is on the border with Russia.

Then residents of the village of Izvarino, provoked by Russian curators, and they were men in balaclavas and with weapons and women with pro-Russian posters; they came up the BCP and chanted: Annex Luhansk region and join to Russia.

In the end, the border guards were caught between two fires - on the one hand, Russia and its regular troops, on the other – militants with weapons and their henchmen with threats.

The separatists constantly issued ultimatums for the border guards to abandon the BCP, but no one was going to fulfill the terrorists' demands.

At the night of June 20-21, 2014, mercenaries fired heavy weapons at the BCP and civilians who were crossing the border. After evacuating people, the border guards took the fight and held the defense, despite the fact that the enemy was firing from under-barrel grenade launchers, mortars and cannons.

After a 16-day resistance, the border guards destroyed equipment and weapons and left the BCP.

However, now, as then, Ukraine continues to defend its land and will definitely return all its territory, all BCPs on the state border, which is recognized by the international law.
