Border guards of Volyn Detachment together with customs officers prevented an attempt to smuggle a significant amount of money across the Ukrainian-Polish border.

During the inspection of a car Skoda, in which a 37-year-old resident of Volyn was coming from abroad through Ustyluh checkpoint, the inspection group found packages in the tool box of the luggage compartment. It contained carefully folded cash. In total, the Volyn resident tried to import about UAH 8 million of undeclared funds into Ukraine.

The illegally transported funds were seized by customs officers under the protocol on customs rules violation.
