Border guards of the Chernivtsi BG detachment and DOZOR special unit stopped two attempts to illegally move cigarettes to Romania.

So, at the border sector of the Seliatyn BG division, a border patrol consisting of employees of the Operational Search Unit and DOZOR fighters found a group of people who were heading towards the border with Romania with packages.

The “business route” of cigarette caravaners ran along mountain trails on the territory of Ukraine and was supposed to end in Romania. However, the illegal plans of the offenders were prevented by border guards. The smugglers had to be stopped with warning shots. During the pursuit, law enforcement officers detained six Ukrainian citizens with 21 packages of cigarettes. In order to illegally move more than 10 thousand packs of cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Romanian border and track the actions of border guards, the young people carefully prepared – they took radio stations and a thermovisor with them.

The cigarettes were delivered to the border unit and will be handed over to representatives of the State Fiscal Service.

And at the site of the Falkov BG division, employees of the Operational Search Unit and DOZOR fighters also prevented the illegal movement of 25 packages of cigarettes across the border yesterday. The offenders, noticing the border guards, left the packages and fled. More than 12 thousand packs of cigarettes, abandoned by packs, border guards handed over to the State Fiscal Service. The search for persons involved in the transaction continues.
