Despite the attempts to destroy border protection system and blocking the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine units in Crimea the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service personnel keeps performing tasks on the Crimean peninsula and on Southern, Eastern and Western Ukrainian border sector.

In the frame of the joint with Ministry of Interior and the Security Service of Ukraine operation “Kordon” only for the last 24 hours 342 Russia federation citizens were refused for entry into Ukraine as potential radically motivated people who are going to participate in destabilization of the situation in the Crimea (they were carrying provocative symbols and means of physical impact). 

By the means of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine aviation for the last 24 hours 180 km of the Ukrainian-Russia border and 200 km of Ukrainian-Moldova border sector were checked. 

Border Guard units of Azov-Black Sea Regional Directorate (located in Crimea) keep performing tasks on border protection. To accomplish these tasks SBGS personnel uses all available means with respect to the dynamic and tough situation. As for today due to so cold “Self-defense” activity the half of SBGS observation posts are not functioning. However SBGS personnel uses other ways of observation and controlling the situation.

At sea border 8 ships and 17 cutters keep performing tasks on border protection.

On the territory of responsibility of Odessa and Berdiansk border detachments the SBGS personnel keep carrying out tasks on border regime maintaining at the main roads from the Crimea. According to the latest data the intensity of movements at those areas is low. However, the increase of the refugees’ number is noticed. For the last 24 hours 265 refugees, mainly representatives of Tatars, left the Crimea.
