Traditionally, the Ukrainian-Romanian exercise “RIVERINE – 2021” ended with a symbolic farewell of the navies of neighboring countries, who greeted each other with in decorated formations and thanked for their cooperation.

The Romanian Navy and their border guard boats, together with the Ukrainian Navy and ships and boats of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service, covered more than 200 nautical miles along the Danube during the exercise.

About 30 practical exercises were performed by one unit and separate tactical groups, demonstrating professionalism and coherence of work.

All training tasks have been completed. The management of the exercises noted a high level of coordination and training of the ship and boat crew, in particular the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service.

“Gaining practical experience, lively communication and joint discussion always contributes to the development and consolidation of friendly relations and focuses the efforts of both participating countries on ensuring peace and tranquility in the region, reliable border protection and readiness to jointly combat external aggression if necessary.” The representative of the Izmail group of Marine Border Guard in the Exercise Staff Captain of 1 rank Mykola Nikolaiev noted.
