The training became another event of the project to support national subjects of Integrated Border Management in the development of tools and procedures for effective management and implementation of IBM policy in Ukraine.

On March 17-18, 2021, the staff of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has undergone a two-day training funded by the European Union on presentation skills and effective communication, organized within the framework of the EU Support for Enhancing Integrated Border Management in Ukraine.

The training was intended to help the employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine develop and conduct more effective presentations within the service, on the interagency level, in communication with partners, and in media communications and for general audience. New skills will help to make better visualization of the results of the implementation of the Strategy and Action Plan on Integrated Border Management, to support public communication of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Interagency Working Group on Events and Changes in the sphere of Integrated Border Management in Ukraine, representing analytical products, political documents, political documents of legal and regulatory nature in the field of Integrated Border Management and interagency cooperation, as well as other achievements, including the results of reform and improving of the service efficiency.

“Effective communication of subjects of Integrated Border Management in Ukraine, in particular professional presentations as one of its instruments, is an integral part of the National IBM system in accordance with European standards, and we are glad that we can support our partners in the development of these important skills”, - explains the leader of the Project EU4IBM Arunas Adomenas.

This training was conducted by an experienced certified teacher for representatives of analytical support, strategic and current scheduling of the SBGSU.  The participants got acquainted with modern techniques for building informative and convincing presentations - from the subtleties of defining the target audience and the election of an appropriate approach to adding key messages to the rules for the formation and conducting of effective presentations, depending on the selected format, existing equipment and venues. During the training, the participants also performed practical tasks in order to consolidate new skills in the form of a presentation to the selected topic.

The training became another event of the project to support national subjects of Integrated Border Management in the development of tools and procedures for effective management and implementation of IBM policy in Ukraine, in particular in the context of monitoring and control of the stage of implementation of the National Strategy of IBM and the plan of measures for its implementation.
