Ukraine, like more than 190 other countries, is a member of the international organization Interpol.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has also been cooperating with this organization for many years in a row. And since August 2015, all, without exception, Ukrainian ports of entry have been connected to the Interpol database.

This database, in addition to identifying persons who are internationally wanted, allows you to quickly identify and exchange information about stolen and lost identity documents and proof of citizenship. As well as for vehicles that are wanted both in Ukraine and abroad.

Every year thousands of people, passport documents and vehicles that are on the international wanted list come into the field of view of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of 2021, Ukrainian border guards have carried out about 700 operations on this database. Of these: almost 360 - for passports, more than 300 - for people and almost 30 for cars that have been stolen around the world.

One of such cars was found last night by border guards of the Lviv border guard detachment on the border with Poland. A citizen of Ukraine was driving a DAF truck and planned to cross the border at the Rava-Ruska BCP. In the Interpol electronic system, a truck with a similar VIN code was listed as stolen in Belgium less than a month ago.

Therefore, the border guards informed the Ukrbureau of Interpol about this fact. The vehicle was handed over to the National Police in accordance with the established procedure.
