Recently, a working meeting was held between the leadership of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine.

Head of the State Border Guard Service Serhii Deineko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine Helene Sand Andresen discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of border security.

The delegation of the Norwegian Embassy was briefed on the functions and tasks of the State Border Guard Service, its role and place in the country's security and defense sector. The parties also outlined areas of further cooperation in the context of Ukraine’s deterrence of unprovoked full-scale russian aggression.

Helene Sand Andersen emphasized the importance of cooperation with the State Border Guard Service and noted that the Government of Norway has decided to provide military, humanitarian and civilian assistance to Ukraine over the next five years for a total of about 7 billion euros.

It should be noted that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been cooperating with the Norwegian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Authority since 2015 and has a successful track record of implementing joint projects in the field of radiation and nuclear safety. During this period, 3 international technical assistance projects totaling more than UAH 36 million were successfully implemented.

The border guards thanked the Norwegian representatives for their support and assistance.
