The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to develop a joint border protection capacity with European counterparts. It significantly increases effectiveness of combating cross-border criminal activity.

The elimination of the channel of the Turkish citizens illegal transportation to the EU with forged Schengen visas became another confirmation of the high level of interaction between the Ukrainian and Polish border guards.

The final stage of the operation was held on February 19-20 from both sides of the border. However, this was preceded by laborious work on studying the routes of infrigers and identifying the organizers of the channel both from Ukrainian and Polish territories.

One of the groups was tracked by the Ukrainian border guards a few days ago. Two Turkish citizens officially entered Ukraine on the 16th of February with valid passports, although with fake Schengen visas. They were detained in the train crossing the border to Poland by the Ukrainian border guards on the 19th of February.

Besides, the Ukrainian border guards have established that several other groups are being prepared to cross the border with Poland. All this information was given to the Polish colleagues.

At the moment the operational measures are being undertaken on both sides of the border.
