Ukrainian and Polish border guards discussed the results of cooperation

The heads of the Lviv and Chop Border Guard Detachments met with the Head of the Bieszczady Border Guard Regional Unit of the Republic of Poland.

The Ukrainian and Polish border guards assessed the protection of the joint area and the results of their activities, summed up the results of border cooperation in 2022, including measures to ensure smooth and continuous cross-border traffic amidst the increased passenger flows on the Ukrainian-Polish border due to the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine

The heads of the delegations noted that despite the significant increase in passenger flows, thanks to cooperation and immediate measures taken to organize border control, the Parties managed to ensure the proper level of functioning of the BCPs and ensure the appropriate rhythm of the processing of persons and vehicles, while simultaneously fulfilling the tasks assigned to protect the state border.

Having discussed several topical issues, the law enforcement agencies identified the main areas of further cooperation and tasks for the next period. In particular, the Parties agreed to further improve the protection of the joint area, effectively combat crime at the border and speed up control procedures at BCPs.

At the end of the meeting, the Ukrainian border guards thanked their Polish colleagues for their fruitful cooperation and comprehensive assistance in such a difficult time for the country.
