The Russian occupation forces selectively let people into their occupied homes and are reluctant to let them into the controlled territory, setting new restrictions each time.

During her visit to Luhansk Region, the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaia Kallas accompanied by the Vice-Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov, the Joint Forces Command, the authorities of the Luhansk Border Guard Detachment and local governments visited the entry-exit check point in Stanytsia Luhanska and Shchastia.

The Chief of the Luhansk Border Detachment, Colonel Yurii Petrov, acquainted the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaia Kallas with the infrastructure of the entry-exit check point, told about the peculiarities of the border guard service in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, the procedure for citizens to pass control and verification procedures and restrictions imposed during the adaptive quarantine period. Yurii Petrov also said that out of the seven existing entry-exit checkpoints on the demarcation line, only Stanytsia Luhanska operates on a daily basis, as the traffic through other road corridors is blocked by the occupiers. And not every citizen manages to get to the temporarily occupied territory along this road corridor. The Russian occupation forces selectively let people into their occupied homes and are reluctant to let them into the controlled territory, setting new restrictions each time.

During her stay at the Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit check point, the Prime Minister of Estonia emphasized: “We are all partners and friends of Ukraine. Ukraine's borders are internationally defined: Luhansk is Ukraine, Donetsk is Ukraine and Crimea is Ukraine. We have been standing side by side with Ukraine for 7 years and will continue to do so for as long as necessary. I am convinced that Ukraine's best response to Russia's armed aggression is to make reforms, and, of course, to invest in the development of Ukraine’s government-controlled areas. People should see that in a free territory it is better, there is life here and Ukraine is a European country. "

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the TOT Oleksii Reznikov noted: “The Government of Estonia supports the initiatives of the Ukrainian Government. Due to donor funds, including from Estonia, we improve the conditions for crossing the demarcation line, modernize and build the entry-exit check point. First of all, we must provide comfortable conditions for people who cross the line of demarcation, and employees of control services involved in control and inspection activities. “He also noted that entry-exit check point “Shchastia” is an example for the development of other entry-exit check points, next - modernization and entry-exit check point in Stanytsia Luhanska. "This is the creation of a new regime and service zones, where citizens will have access to financial institutions, logistics services, administrative services offices. These structures will be easy to transport. And after the deoccupation they will be moved to the controlled Ukrainian-Russian border.”
