TWO “TOURISTS” FROM INDIA WERE DETAINED AT NIGHT BY BORDER GUARDS IN LVIV REGION

During the detention, it became clear that the foreigners were Indian nationals, they had entered Ukraine legally via one of the capital's airports. However, they did not intend to stay long in our country and tried to sneak to other EU countries.

On the night of December 23, a border detail of the Rava Ruska border guard division detained two foreigners, a man and a woman born in 1994 and 1991, on the outskirts of a settlement. Border guards of the Lviv border guard detachment already knew about the probable attempt to illegally cross the state border with Poland, as the operatives of the State Border Guard Service had provided the information in advance.

During the detention, it became clear that the foreigners were Indian nationals, they had entered Ukraine legally via one of the capital's airports. However, they did not intend to stay long in our country and tried to sneak to other EU countries.

Currently, two seekers of better fortune have been placed in the temporary holding facility of the Lviv border detachment. The actions of detainees fall under an offense of Part 1 of Art. 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences “Illegal crossing or attempt of illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine”.

It should be mentioned that crossing or attempting to cross the state border of Ukraine in any way beyond the border crossing points without relevant documents or with documents containing inaccurate identity, or without the permission of the relevant authorities entails a fine of one hundred up to two hundred tax-free minimums or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.
