Two illegal migrants, who were heading to Germany, were detained that night by border guards from the Luzhanka border guard division of the Mukachevo BG detachment.

The border guard detail detected men aged 26 and 30 moving towards the border with Hungary at midnight on the outskirts of the inhabited locality of Astei. The detainees had passports of Turkish citizens with them. They said the ultimate goal of their illegal travel was Germany, where foreigners planned to improve their living conditions.

During clarification of all the circumstances of the offense, the border guards found out that the citizens of Turkey entered Ukraine legally, and then used GPS to plan their route to the European Union.

The offenders were taken to the temporarily holding facility of the Mukachevo border guard detachment. Administrative reports have been drawn up against the men for attempting to violate the border, and the case will be sent to court, which will provide a legal assessment of the foreigners’ activities.
