Recently, servicemen of Dobrianka department of Chernihiv Detachment, according to preliminary information of the border guards of the operative-search unit, stopped a car with 25 boxes of cigarettes.

Automobile “Dacia” with Ukrainian registration was stopped for inspection near the border with Belarus - on the outskirts of the village Zaderiyivka, in Ripky district of Chernihiv region.

During an inspection of the vehicle driven by a 37-year-old citizen of Ukraine, border guards found 25 boxes of Belarusian cigarettes.

Upon detection of signs of the crime provided by Art. 204 of the Criminal Code “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for sale of excisable goods” border guards reported to the National Police. Cigarettes were confiscated.

And in Odesa region, border guards of Bilhorod-Dniestovskyi Detachment also stopped a car loaded with foreign cigarettes near the border.

Recently in the village Markivka, near the border with Moldova in Rozdilna district of Odessa region, border guards together with SSU officers stopped a Ford car with Ukrainian registration. The car was driven by a 30-year-old citizen of Ukraine, a resident of Odesa region.

During the inspection of the car law enforcement officers found almost 15,000 packs of Moldovan cigarettes, which the man was transporting without any accompanying documents. Cigarettes, previously estimated at 200,000 hryvnias, were seized by customs officers.

In both cases, law enforcement officers continue to take measures to establish all the circumstances of the offenses.
