The border guards of Chop border guard detachment exposed the illegal intentions of a fellow citizen who did not hesitate to offer bribes or use forged documents to illegally leave Ukraine.

A 36-year-old resident of Transcarpathia was heading out of Ukraine in a car through Uzhhorod border crossing point. Along with his passport, he presented border guards with a package of documents for the escort of a relative who requires constant care.

However, during the passport control the border guards had doubts about the authenticity of the provided documents, so they decided to check them thoroughly. During the interview the man admitted that they were not issued by the relevant authorities. Instead, an acquaintance helped him “make” the documents.

When the border guards informed the offender that use of forged documents is a crime, he decided to give them a bribe. To avoid responsibility for the committed crime, the perpetrator offered the law enforcement officers an unlawful reward of 100 US dollars. The servicemen refused the proposal and called National Police officers to the border crossing point. Now the “trickster” will have to deal with the law.
