The training was interesting and intense. The young men gained a unique experience of participating in joint Ukrainian-American maneuvers with the US Coast Guard ship “Hamilton”.

Studying the theory of NATO standards during the lectures, cadets had the opportunity to apply knowledge in practice during joint exercises, information exchange. After all, the trainees received commands and formed reports in English, using special procedures of standards.

The cadets sought to perform their duties in a real-world setting with enthusiasm, interest and responsibility. In addition, the constant presence and provocative actions of Russian ships, which reluctantly interfered in the coordinated maneuvers of the Maritime Guard with American colleagues, added a special impression.

It is the unique experience of navigating solutions and the implementation of maneuvering in critical conditions of real confrontation at sea that future navigators especially appreciated. The cadets admitted that such training leaves an unforgettable impression and strengthens confidence in the conscious choice of an extremely interesting and prestigious profession - a maritime border guard.

Currently, the most important stage for future officers is passing a state certification and graduating from university. And after their vacation, this summer, they will be gladly welcomed by the ship and boat crew of the Maritime Guard.
