A separate Odessa Aviation Squadron has been replenished with three modern aircraft of the French company AIRBUS H125, which are supplied under an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the French Republic.

Currently, the Odesa Squadron has all the necessary infrastructure to receive helicopters. In particular, a new helipad with appropriate lighting equipment and a storage hangar were built.

It should be noted that 15 servicemen of the squadron's air force took advanced training courses in this type of equipment in France.

AIRBUS H125 helicopters are equipped with opto-electronic surveillance system, which allows monitoring the state border, including in infrared light. The equipment allows not only to record video in high quality, but also with the help of satellite equipment in real time to transmit it. Helicopters are also equipped with a warning system with loudspeakers and special aircraft searchlights, which can be used synchronously with the system of optoelectronic surveillance.

Note that the range of new helicopters without refueling exceeds 500 km, and the cruising speed is 220 km / h.

AIRBUS H125 propellers are 5 times more fuel efficient and have better maneuverability compared to the MI-8, which is in the inventory of the State Border Guard Service.

The helicopters that the Separate Odessa Aviation Squadron received under the Ukrainian-French agreement will be used by border guards in the near future. The new H125 will become an integral part of the protection of the state border.
