We will note that border guards systematically counteract any attempts of illegal migration.

So, border guards of the Kherson Border Guard Detachment detained an unusual group of foreigners. Men of African appearance were walking along the side of the highway in Ochakiv district.

As it became known later, these “travellers” were previously on a foreign vessel, which arrived the day before from Guinea at the Dnipro-Bug ICC BCP. Then, during the registration of the vessel, the border guards found these three illegal migrants without identity documents. They allegedly secretly got on the ship and hid on it. Border guards did not allow them to go ashore and they were under guard until the ship left.

After check-out, the dry cargo ship went along the route.

The detained foreigners, who are citizens of the Republic of Guinea, told the border guards that they had boarded a foreign ship when the latter was loading in the port of Guinea. They also stated that they had been hiding in the deck crane, in the bow of the ship and in the lifeboat for almost three weeks. When they failed to enter the territory of Ukraine at the Dnipro-Buzky ICC BCP, after the vessel left in the opposite direction, they decided to jump off the ship.

In the evening, while following the Dnieper-Bug estuary to the Black Sea, illegals jumped out of the ship, grabbing a lifebuoy. So, they managed to reach the Ukrainian coast.

Currently, foreigners were detained and taken to the border unit. Measures to clear up all the circumstances of the case are ongoing.
