Servicemen of the Donetsk Border Guard Detachment carrying out missions as a part of JFO stopped a criminal offense with sanctions provided by Art. 369 of the Criminal Code “Offer, promise or provision of improper benefit to an official”.

Thus, a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the Novotroitske EECP. He was on his way to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. During the inspection, border guards found hidden money in the amount of 5,400 US dollars, 3,500 hryvnias and 75,000 Russian rubles; the total equivalent is 181,100 hryvnias, which exceeds the established amount of funds allowed to move across the demarcation line.

In order to ask law enforcement officers not to “notice” the fact, the Ukrainian national offered a bribe in the amount of 100 US dollars.

The border guards refused the proposal and sent a message to the competent law enforcement agencies; the citizen and the funds were handed over to the National Police for further legal decision.
