It was stated today at a briefing in UKINFORM on the operational situation at the front by the director of the State Border Protection Department Leonid Baran.

The director of the State Border Protection Department focused on the situation on the border with Belarus. He noted that although no significant changes have been noted in the situation, units of the Armed Forces of Belarus in Brest and Gomel oblasts continue to carry out tasks to strengthen the border with Ukraine. There are approximately 7 battalions. In addition, he noted that the certain units of their internal troops are involved in border protection. Engineering arrangements are being actively carried out in the border areas of Belarus, and the use of electronic warfare is quite strong, especially in recent times.  There is also a threat of rocket attacks from the territory of Belarus on the objects of our state. Regarding the situation on the Transnistrian segment of the border with Moldova, Leonid Baran noted that no significant changes have taken place in this direction.  Border guards, together with other components of the security and defense sector, are intensively serving, jointly taking preventive measures to safeguard provocations at the state border, and taking all necessary measures to equip duty stations, engineering and fortification of the state border.
