The tenth championship of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in orienteering took place in Volyn

Recently, border guards from all over Ukraine competed in orienteering.

25 teams and more than 100 participants - representatives of border guard detachments, regional directorates and units of central subordination, demonstrated their skills to navigate the terrain with the help of a map and compass.

On August 28, the athletes competed in the individual championship, and the next day the team relay was waiting for the participants.

Mykola Podoliak, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the State Border Guard Service, Colonel Serhii Lozinskyi, Head of the Volyn Borderguard Detachment, and representatives of the regional and city authorities congratulated the participants during the opening ceremony of the competition at the borderguard detachment base.

In particular, during the celebrations, master of sports of international class Ivan Banzeruk from Volyn, who participated in the Olympic Games in Brazil and Japan, was presented with the "Excellent Border Guard" badge and a monetary award of 5000 hryvnyas by the Head of the State Border Guard Service for high achievements in sports and worthy representation of Ukraine at the international level.

According to the results of the team relay competition, the first place was won by the team of Volyn Borderguard Detachment, the second place went to the border guards from Bukovyna, and the third place was won by the representatives of the Main Personnel Training Center of the State Border Guard Service.

Among the regional directorates, the first place was taken by the border guards of the Eastern Regional Borderguard Directorate, the second - the Western, the third - the Southern Regional Borderguard Directorate.

The winners of the championship were awarded cups and medals.
