The events honoring the memory of Heavenly Hundred Heroes are being held in the bodies and units of the State Border Guard Service today. In particular, the participants of the revolution of Dignity were honored near the monument to Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Cherkasy. A prayer service for all the deceased was held at the Cathedral square. All the present people lit the lamps, honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence and laid flowers to the monument of Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

The heads and the personnel of the Training Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after general-major Igor Momot also participated in the events.

The same day, a memorial part of the hall of Fame of Cherkasy city was opened. It is dedicated to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine and to those who stood up to the last breath in the East of our state. The Gallery depicts photographs and information about 21 residents of Cherkasy, who died during the antiterrorist operation in the East of our country. Among them, there are the border guards of the Training Centre Igor Momot, Vitaliy Vinnychenko, Volodymyr Grechanyi, Mykola Zaitsev, Pavlo Lazarenko, Igor Petriv, Sergiy Lyfar, Sergiy Epifanov.

"From the first days of danger thousands of Ukrainian patriots stood up to defend Ukraine. And not only professional servicemen, border guards, but also hundreds of volunteers that didn’t even hold a real weapon in their hands. The residents of our city actively joined those ranks," stated the City Council Chairman Anatoliy Bondarenko.

General-major Bohdan Pankivskyi also shared his memories of the Training Center border guards who were killed: "Two years ago we could not even believe that the war would come to Ukraine. And our companions in arms who gave their lives for their native land were real, courageous and bold. Eternal honor to the heroes! Eternal glory to those who fell at Maidan, eternal glory to those who gave their lives defending our country in the East!"
