Over the 24 hours terrorists attacked the entry and exit checkpoint “Maryinka” and the approaches to it three times. At first, there was a series of sniper shootings in direction of the checkpoint “Maryinka” where border guards and Ukrainian military men perform military service. There were 15 shots fired. Then, the attacks were targeted at the entry and exit checkpoint itself. From 4.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. illegal military groups used sniper rifles, PK machine-guns, DShK and KPV heavy machine guns, AGS-17 grenade launchers and an anti-aircraft gun. Besides, some mortar shell blasts were registered near the checkpoint. Approximately at the same time terrorists for the second time opened fire at the border checkpoint “Maryinka” located in front of the entry and exit checkpoint. The shelling of the checkpoint from rifles, the anti-aircraft gun and mortars lasted for 4 hours.

Yesterday border guards of Donetsk detachment detected 4 unmanned aircraft performing reconnaissance in Mariupol direction. On the administrative border the guards of Kherson detachment detected flights of 4 Russian helicopters over the temporary occupied territory of Crimea. The Ukrainian army detachments were informed accordingly.

At the outskirts of the settlement Zolote in Luhansk region border guards in cooperation with the National police officers found out the enemy’s gun emplacement due to the operating report. It was supposedly shelling the Ukrainian military locations. Examining the place the interdepartmental working group found 10 rocket-propelled grenades RPG-26 and 8 grenades VOG-25. Further checking measures are taken.

Over the 24 hours Ukrainian border guards and joint mobile groups stopped 6 vehicles carrying goods. In particular, at the block post “Schastya” the border guard detail stopped 4 trucks loaded with sunflower seeds, wheat and wood, the total weight of which exceeded 40 tons. No supporting documents for the load, the total value of which was over UAH 300000, were provided. 2 more vehicles loaded with food products were stopped in the region of the settlement Trokhizbenka and at the border checkpoint “Stepne”.

At the block post “Lysychansk” border guards with the help of the border guard dog found out narcotic substance belonging to a citizen of Ukraine. The man was trafficking 4 ampoules of opium. The detained person was turned over to the National police officers.

4 trucks transporting humanitarian goods for Donetsk region residents passed through the entry and exit checkpoint “Novotroitske”. The vehicles carried about 40 tons of medical equipment and 12 tons of thermal clothes provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission and the charitable organization under the aegis of U.N. “People in Need”.
