The operatives of the Chop border guard detachment discredited the channel of illegal migration of Indian citizens from Ukraine to the EU countries.

Illegal activities are increasingly being committed by foreigners who illegally transport migrants from their own countries to Western European countries in order to earn money.

Identifying the perpetrators in such cases requires special efforts from the operatives of the border guard department, because it is easier for the organizers of illegal activities, so to speak, to “dissolve” among their compatriots. At the same time, shippers do not neglect the vulnerable condition of the mentioned above, often endangering their lives and health.

In particular, on the night of May 28-29 this year, four Indian citizens were detained by the border patrol of the Onokivtsi branch of the Chop detachment near the state border. During a further investigation of the circumstances of the offense, questioning of the participants of the event and detailed study of the collected data, operatives of the Main Operational and Search Department of the Chop Detachment found that among the detained Indian citizens was a person who directly smuggled his fellow citizens across the state border.

This became the basis for sending a report to the Uzhhorod District Police Department about the detection of signs of a criminal offense.

In the process of operative support of the criminal proceedings brought into the ERPTI on the basis of the Chop border guard detachment's operative-investigative unit, under the procedural guidance of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office, irrefutable evidence of the detained Indian citizen's guilt in organizing and illegally transporting three Indian citizens across the Ukrainian-Slovak border was collected.

Based on the evidence gathered this week, an investigator from the Uzhhorod District Police Department informed the foreigner of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, after which the criminal proceedings will be sent for trial.

It will be recalled that illegal transportation of people across the state border of Ukraine, which is charged against a suspected Indian citizen, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to seven years.
