Recently, on the Chisinau-Poltava highway, border guards of the Podolsk border guard detachment stopped a Renault trafic car driven by a Ukrainian citizen.

During the inspection of the car it turned out that the 34-year-old native of Podolsk was transporting 250 liters of liquid with a distinquishing smell of alcohol and more than 16 thousand packs of cigarettes with excise stamps of Moldova without any documents for sale in local markets.

During a conversation with border guards, the driver claimed that a friend asked to pick up the “goods” from one of the towns and transport them to another one, and what exactly was in the car he did not know.

The previous estimate reached 700,000 hryvnias.

The events were carried out during the implementation of operational information together with representatives of the management of Security Service of Ukraine in Odessa region, with the forceful support of border guard special forces.

The cargo was seized and handed over to the representatives of the Odessa customs. Urgent investigative actions are underway.
