The border guards of Ukraine and Hungary managed to save the life of a Ukrainian due to concerted actions.

Recently, the border patrol of Diakove Border Guard Division of Mukacheve Border Guard Detachment has noticed a man without any signs of life who was being carried down the Tyssa River to Hungary.

Border guards have immediately notified Hungarian colleagues and other cooperating units, as well as have set up additional patrols to check the coastal shoal of the Tyssa River, which crosses the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

Hungarian border guards soon announced that they had found an unknown unconscious man and called the ambulance.

Ukrainian law enforcement officers managed to establish that a 28-year-old Ukrainian was a local resident of the border. He jumped from a bridge located in Ukraine. Then, probably having been injured, the man could not cope with the rapid flow of the river which started carrying him away to the neighboring country.

Fortunately, the drowning man was saved. Thanks to the vigilance of the servicemen of Mukacheve Border Guard Detachment, the Hungarian border guards responded immediately, pulled the man out of the water and provided him with assistance.

So far, during the border-representative meeting, Hungarian law enforcement officers handed over the man to Ukrainian border guards. The man has not yet explained what made him do that.
